Gold necklace, cost? Going down soon?
I want to buy a gold necklace. However, I go to the jewelery store and it's like $1000 for a 14k gold necklace. It's really shiny though, are the $50 ones out there just as shiny? Why are some sold at $50 while others at $1000? How will people distinguish between something that costs real money versus some $50 rip off?
How much can I expect for an 18k Figaro gold necklace? 14k Figaro gold necklace? 18k means it's more pure gold and lighter right? Why is it that a gold watch from Rolex will cost you $30k while a gold necklace will only cost like $3000?
Anyway, would $1000-$3000 for a 14k Figaro gold necklace be a fair price? That's the price they're selling at, not the “estimated retail price” where they mark it up. I couldn't find 18k, but I'm interested in prices for that. Also, do prices go down during Xmas shopping season? If so, how much of a discount can I expect or should I just buy a necklace now?I'm wondering in the event that the price of gold might affect price/discount
