Though Frédérique Constant made award-wining movement (for example, the brand’s Heart Beat Manufacture movement) and created patented balancing-system (for example, the brand’s Smart Weight Balancing-system, ), it was not until 2008 when it exhibited its fully in-house made tourbillon caliber which stole the show at Baselworld that it began to made its name worldwide.
This year, this brand continues to present amazing watches to the watch-making industry. And the “Manufacture Tourbillon Moonphase Date 24 Silicium, available in rose gold or white gold, is the best example.
This new watch offers two options when it comes to dial decoration: one in black featuring applied,polished hour markers and a center with exquisite engraved pattern, the other one in silver sporting lacquered Roman Numerals and a center with refined “Clous de Paris” guilloché pattern. The black dial is understated yet modern, while the silver dial feels classical and elegant.Except central hours and minutes, the dial has moonphase indicator and date display at 12, and 24 hour counter at 9, and a subtle tourbillon cage which is individual numbered at 6.
The above mentioned functions are supported by an innovative and highly complicated tourbillon caliber called caliber FC-985 which independently developed and assembled by Frédérique Constant. Composed of 208 individual parts, caliber FC-985 beats at a frequency of 28’800 vph. It features silicium escapement and lever and the patented Frédérique Constant Smart Weight Balancing-system, and high-level decoration.
Manufacture Tourbillon Moonphase Date 24 Silicium, as a fine example of the achievements of Frédérique Constant’s watch-making, is available in 188 pieces in 18k rose gold and 88 pieces in 18k white gold.

Beating inside is the calibre Manufacture 13BA05, a 47-jewels self-winding movement with a lightened tourbillon mechanism aesthetically visualized at 3 and 7-days power reserve indicated at 9. The movement also features bi-directional 22K gold winding rotor, hand chiselled plate, angled and blackened bridges with vertical Côtes de Genève finish. Through the sapphire glass at the case back, you can enjoy this charming mechanism.
